As we know, going into business is tough; not having a plan makes it even harder. I can't understand why someone going into business spends their money but does not plan. The United States of America is a place where dreams can come true for the average man. You can come from poverty or you can come from a mediocre life and reach the highest plateau of wealth in America.
I came from Cleveland, Ohio, east of the river and I grew up as an indigent child. Understanding wealth was not something I was ever taught to do. I am the second oldest in my family, but the oldest boy of five kids raised by a single mother. My mother didn't have wealth, as far as money goes but she had incredible wisdom, something that is much needed when you are a business owner, the ability to know when and how to make the right decisions.
Wanting to be an entrepreneur was something that I always dreamed about being. I remember the first day that I made up my mind to become an entrepreneur. I really didn't know what entrepreneurship was about but all I knew was I wanted to be one. My journey started when I was 12 years old, first thing I understood was that I needed to learn as much as possible. But the questions arose, "What is an entrepreneur? What did it take to become one? Do I have what it takes to become one? And how long would it take?" So, after pondering all these thoughts and questions going through my mind, I became a mad man and I started reading, writing, and study day and night. I wanted to be successful! I didn't even know what would be a successful venture for my life, but I did know that I was passionate about being the most successful African American man in the world!
For the past 27 years I have dedicated my life to becoming an entrepreneur, although, some people call it chasing after your dreams. Some people have laughed at me, criticized me, and even hurt me. I've lost two families, cars, houses and money. But what was most important, I didn't lose my momentum; I just kept on going, even through the heartache and the struggle I had in my life. Throughout the distress and pain, I maintained my focus and became the entrepreneur I always dreamed about being. You may think, "He is crazy!" But I don't; I call it, "The American dream". If I had the time to tell you my story, you would then realize what I mean when I say, "By all means necessary!"
Over the years I have successfully, started businesses, sold some, and closed some. I have helped many people over the years get into business and advise them on the ways to make it successful for years to come and take it to the next level of excellence. Seeing my clients grow as a family and be able to have their finances secure, has given me the greatest reward and pleasure. I recognized that there was something different about me that I only wished I could find in others I came into contact with and that is, my heart. What fulfills my dreams and desires is impacting people's lives and wanting to see them succeed.
My biggest downfall is caring too much for people, because in the process I have gotten hurt by my very large heart. I want everybody to have a piece of the "American Pie". I want people's dreams to come true and I want to keep families together for as long as God intended. I want to show people that somebody cares about the pain they went through and are currently going through. That is why I started my company's, Tricomm Worldwide and Dr. Hutch International; they are both consulting firms, specializing in real estate and business. And after all these years the young man from Cleveland, Ohio did it. And you may be asking yourself, "Did what"? I became an entrepreneur, the dream I have dreamed since I was a young boy!
My question to you today is, "Do you want to become an entrepreneur?" If so, do you have what it takes to make your dream come true? I wish you the best of luck and my one bit of advice would be, don't ever stop dreaming, even when your world has been shattered against the jagged edged rocks!
